Elaphite Archipelago & Dubrovnik

We recommend to spend a morning exploring Mljet National Park. At the heart of Veliko Jezero lies the small islet of St. Mary, home to the 12th-century Benedictine Monastery of St. Mary (Samostan Svete Marije). Surrounded by tranquil lake waters and dense pine forests, this historic monastery is one of Mljet’s most iconic landmarks. Originally founded by Benedictine monks, the complex later served various roles through the centuries, including a summer residence for Dubrovnik nobility. Today, the monastery and its Romanesque church offer a serene glimpse into Mljet’s spiritual and cultural heritage, set within one of the Adriatic’s most peaceful natural settings.
